Leica Microsystems has introduced the Leica DM4000 B LED, a microscope system with LED illumination suited for biomedical applications.

Liquid Handler

Gilson Inc. has introduced the GX-241 liquid handler, a compact liquid handler suited for application and laboratories where bench space is at a premium.

Portable Logic Analyzer

Oscium has announced the launch of LogiScope. LogiScope is a logic analyzer, designed for the iOS family of products like the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, with the real-time data analysis capabilities of an oscilloscope.

Phase Monitor for Visual Observation of Materials

Supercritical Fluid Technologies Inc.'s SFT Phase Monitor II is a tool for determining the solubility of various compounds and mixtures in supercritical and high-pressure fluids. It provides direct, visual observation of materials under conditions precisely controlled by the researcher.

Plates, Stirrers Feature Five or Nine Positions

Torrey Pines Scientific Inc. has announced a new line of multi-position analog stirring hot plates and stirrers featuring five or nine stirring positions.

Phree Phospholipid Removal Plates

Phenomenex Inc. has introduced Phree phospholipid removal plates for fast cleanup of plasma samples in pharmaceutical and clinical research laboratories. In one step, Phree removes both proteins and phospholipids and delivers the prepared plasma to a collection plate.

Benchtop LC-MS System

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. has introduced the Exactive Plus system, a benchtop liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) system for high-throughput screening, identification, and quantification of compounds in complex matrices.

Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer

Shimadzu Scientific Instruments introduces the LCMS-8040, a triple quadrupole mass spectrometer, which combines ion optics and collision cell technology with ultrafast technologies.

Mechanical Qualification System for Dissolution Testing

Agilent Technologies Inc. has introduced the 280-DS mechanical qualification system, an instrument for routine calibration of a dissolution apparatus. The system accurately measures, verifies, and documents physical parameters established with recently enhanced mechanical qualification standards, eliminating the need for visual interpretation of measurements from manual gauges.

Mass Flow Meters, Controllers

Alicat Scientific Inc. now offers its mass flow meters and mass flow controllers with high turndown ratio 200:1 as standard. Alicat meters and controllers measure mass flow using differential pressure and a laminar flow technology, resulting in fast response with a rugged design.
