Xerox unveils research projects to make healthcare less of a pain

This week at TEDMED 2012, Xerox pulled back the curtain on some of the healthcare-related research occurring in its labs around the world. The company’s innovations include LiveKey, which captures and shares paper-based information in seconds, and predictive clinical analytics solutions enabled by mobile device technology.

In an age when just about anyone can scan, manipulate, and reprint documents, it has become crucial for companies to be able to create documents that can be authenticated and to secure the data within them. Researchers at Xerox Corp. (Webster, N.Y.) have created a new technology, FreeFlow Variable Information Suite 5.0, which does just that. FreeFlow is actually four specialty imaging printing technologies that can ensure that documents cannot be easily counterfeited, printed, or copied.
