piezosystem jena has introduced the PZ 250 SG Z-axis piezo elevator stage designed for precise positioning of probes and components under a microscope. The PZ 250 SG consists of a bottom plate prepared according to the microscope stage footprint size making integration easy. One footprint is made for the NIKON LV 3x2 microscope stand series and the second is for the Marzhauser Scan 100x100 stage. The PZ 250 SG maintains versatility since it can also be mounted on top of standard motorized xy stages and other footprints are available on demand.
The top plate contains threaded holes for easy mounting of components. Movement depends on piezo electric actuators integrated into a flexure hinge system that guarantees parallel lifting of the top plate and can withstand additional loads of up 300 g. Special calibration is necessary if an application requires a load that exceeds this value. The PZ 250 SG offers up to 350-µm travel range with high accuracy in the sub-nanometer range, high resolution and short settling time. The stage is equipped with a D-Sub 15 connector and an integrated strain gauge sensor system, enabling the user to control the stage in closed-loop mode with a typical repeatability of ±2 nm.
