Dolomite has introduced its Porous Media Chip, which enables statistically representative modeling of complex porous sandstone rock structures.
The chip features a 2D net-like structure of intersecting 100 um diameter capillaries, forming pore bodies joined by different types of throats. Pore bodies and throats are assigned standard geometries to simplify structural modeling and analysis. The chip can be used in single and multiphase fluid (oil, water, or gas) flow studies through porous media. The results can be used to estimate and preduct the characteristics of soils and rocks.
Operating over a wide pressure range up to 30 bar, the Porous Media Chip is compatible with Dolomite’s Top Interface 4-way and Linear Connector 4-way, allowing quick and reliable fluidic connection to 1.6 mm OD tubing. Capillary connections can be added to increase the operating pressure up to 350 bar.
