The 1.3m McPherson Model 209 is available for scanning and 2D imaging. It features adjustable slits, multiple ports, and high precision wavelength drive for best reproducibility. At LMSAL the Model 209 is used with a CCD and heliostat to measure narrow-band Lyot filters. Measurements of hot plasmas are another application. Scientists use the spectrometer with up to 100 input fibers. They characterize ion temperature, plasma density, emission intensity, and magnetic field strength from Stark split emission spectra and resolved intensity ratios.
