SRI International and the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), Japan's largest public R&D management organization, are establishing a collaborative program to identify and nurture promising research projects to result in building successful startup companies in Japan.
Although Japan is a hub of scientific research and home to many well-established, technology-based companies, the country faces challenges commercializing its technology on a global scale. To meet these challenges, SRI and NEDO launch a technology commercialization accelerator program for promising R&D teams. Using SRI's Five Disciplines of Innovation process—a proven, repeatable method for managing the creation and delivery of new customer value—teams will learn and use a common language and framework for defining innovation, proposing ideas effectively to the global investment community and successfully bringing these innovations to market.
