R&D June Alibre ProductAlibre Design 2011 from Alibre Inc. provides 3D model creation and documentation capabilities for downstream applications such as computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), rendering, or 3D printing. Integrated modules allow users to create parts, assemblies, unfoldable sheet metal parts, and 2D drawings. The software code has been converted to Microsoft C+. The Professional and Expert editions are available in a 64-bit version. Features include 2D Detailing Framework without toolbars and dialogs, virtual intersection dimensioning, automatic part re-orientation, new hole presets, multi-plane creation, and keyboard shortcuts. With the SheetMetal conversion tool, users can convert imported or natively designed solids into unfoldable sheet metal parts that can be flattened and machined in Alibre CAM.
