Fiberguide Industries has introduced a full line of standard solarization resistant fibers for deep UV applications. The fibers are suited for spectroscopy, lithography, and excimer laser delivery applications where fibers are exposed to deuterium lamp transmission (190 nm to 230 nm) or ArF-Excimer (193 nm) laser.
Prolonged UV transmission below 260 nm causes solarization in optical fibers, reducing their UV transmittance. Fiberguide’s solarization resistant fibers use a modified core preform that protects fiber from the damaging effects of deep UV. These fibers have excellent performance and long-term stability at 30 to 40% transmission (for 215 nm). Fiber core sizes can be produced from 50 μm to greater that 1000 μm. Customer cabled or multi-fiber assemblies are also available.
