China readies for next spaceflight

This undated photo shows the Shenzhou-7 manned spaceship being lifted to dock with a Long-March II-F rocket at an assembly plant. The rocket has already been transferred to the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center northwest China's Gansu Province. The center has undergone some final tests ahead of the launch of the Shenzhou Seven.

The test of turning off the machine in an emergency in the launching area started on Monday morning. It took place in the command center. And all those in charge of the seven systems, including the rocket and spaceship, attended. The test aimed to check the ability to handle a problem after the launch the main test of today's examination, with the power system on.

The spacecraft is currently scheduled to launch on Sept. 25 and will feature China’s first spacewalk.
