Porous and Semi-Porous Fabrics
Porous and semi-porous fabrics (56 Series) are Teflon PTFE coated fiberglass fabrics range from Semi-porous breathable breeder cloth to 1/8”, 3/16” and ¼” porous mesh. The surface texture is visible and can be used as an embossment sheet. These fabrics have dimensional stability, durability, excellent tensile strength, and extremely low elongation. The Teflon PTFE polymer contains a variety of beneficial properties: inertness to chemicals, fire resistance, weather resistance, low friction, superior release, flexibility, extreme heat and cold resistance, excellent electrical, insulative and dielectric properties, and resistance to ultraviolet (UV), infrared (IR), microwave, and radio frequency (RF). Applications for these fabrics include: polymer processing—manufacturing of silicone rubber sheets, curing rubber, plastic foams, and sponge; and aerospace—composite mold releases, and release sheets for fabricating glass resin structures.
