Global warming? Bring it on

The topic of global warming keeps raging on. Evidently not enough, though, for John Coleman, founder of cable TV’s Weather Channel. He has suggested filing a lawsuit against FOA (friends of Al) just to turn up the heat on the debate. Well, Mr. Coleman, here’s my two cents worth.

Having lived in New Jersey all of my life, I’ve had my share of winters. I remember one year we walked to church in our Sunday finest on a beautiful warm, sunny Easter morning, and by the time the service was over we had six inches of snow on the ground. In grammar school I walked more than a mile to school in temperatures as cold as -3° F. (That was the real deal, as we didn’t have any ‘wind chill factor’ back then.) On another occasion, not too long ago, I returned from a tropical vacation in Florida only to find it snowing in the great Garden State. Nothing too odd about that, except for the fact that it was mid-May!

I keep hearing that a warming trend is hitting the world like never before. And every year I have to break my back shoveling more of the lousy white stuff. All I have to say is if global warming really is going to happen I wish it would happen soon.
