Green Plains says underwriters will buy more stock

Green Plains Renewable Energy Inc. said Tuesday that the underwriters of a stock offering will buy another 825,000 shares to cover overallotments.

The options will push the total offering to 6.325 million shares, and the company expects net proceeds of $79.3 million after expenses.

The offering is expected to close Wednesday.

The joint book runners are Jefferies & Co. Inc. and Piper Jaffray & Co. Imperial Capital LLC and Stephens Inc. acted as co-managers.

Shares of Green Plains Renewable Energy Inc. rose 26 cents, or 1.8 percent, to $14.74 in morning trading.
