Kellogg Co. Chief Executive David Mackay received $7.8 million in 2009 compensation, down 22 percent from the previous year.

According to a document filed with regulators on Monday, the head of the food company received a bump in base salary and performance-based bonus. But the total value of his compensation fell roughly because the value of his stock-based compensation dropped.

The Associated Press calculations of total pay are based on a scope of payments and may differ from a company's assessment.
