A Connecticut inmate with cancer who has served 16 years for murder is being freed after a star witness recanted.
Fifty-one-year-old Ronald Taylor was handcuffed in a hospital bed Thursday when his lawyer came to tell him a judge overturned his conviction in a 1993 killing.
Superior Court Judge Stanley Fuger ruled Thursday that Taylor and another man are "actually innocent" of the crime and even threw out their arrest warrants.
Taylor's lawyer says that his client had a cancerous tumor removed from his intestinal area months ago but that his cancer has spread to other organs.
