The Public Service Commission has approved annual adjustments that will raise rates for customers of Gulf Power Co. and Florida Public Utilities.

The panel Tuesday approved new fuel, capacity, conservation, environmental and purchased power cost recovery charges.

The net result will increase the monthly rate for 1,000 kilowatt hours, about average for residential usage, by $4.70 to $126.17 for Pensacola-based Gulf Power.

The rate for Florida Public Utilities' Marianna Division will go up by $18.83 to $155.54 for the same usage. In the company's Fernandina Beach Division the increase will be $1.84 to $131.83.

The commission last month adjusted rates for Florida's other investor owned power companies.
