Honeywell International Inc., which makes industrial products such as building materials, aircraft radar and fire safety equipment, said Monday that it received a contract from Flambeau River Biofuels to supply automation and control components for its new diesel plant.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
The Park Falls, Wis. plant is expected to be operational by 2012 and will produce energy, transportation fuels and chemicals from renewable resources.
The plant is expected to produce 10 million gallons each year of wax typically produced from fossil fuels, and 8 million gallons of green diesel to be used as the blend stock in transportation and aviation fuels.
The process also produces heat that will be used to generate steam and electricity to power a paper mill, Honeywell said.
Honeywell shares fell 50 cents to $37.76 in afternoon trading.
