Affiliated Computer Services Inc. said Tuesday that it received a $21 million contract to manage and run South Carolina's child support payment processing center.

The seven-year pact with the state's Department of Social Services tasks ACS with establishing a state disbursement division for payment processing and customer service. Custodial parents will be able to choose a debit card for child support payments if they wish.

The company will also set up a call center to respond to general child support questions.

The program will initially roll out in select counties in October 2011 and expand across the state later that year.

Last month, Xerox Corp. said it would purchase Affiliated Computer Services for about $6.4 billion in cash and stock.
