Junior oil and gas firm Suroco Energy Inc. (TSXV:SRN) said Tuesday it has temporarily suspended operations at its Suroriente block in the Putumayo Basin of Colombia as civil demonstrations related to upcoming local elections have hampered access to the property.
The Calgary-based company said it continued production after the road closures began and had filled all available storage tanks.
"Following the road closures, production activity continued until available storage tanks were filled, at which point a decision was made to suspend production operations until all road access becomes available for operations to safely resume," Suroco said in a statement.
Suroco explores for and produces oil and gas liquids in Colombia and Western Canada.
