Suncor Energy Responds to Fire at Oil Sands Upgrader

Suncor Energy Inc. reports that repairs are underway following a minor fire at one of the company's two oil sands upgraders north of Fort McMurray, Alberta. The fire occurred today at approximately 3 a.m. during maintenance work on the plant. There were no injuries and no apparent environmental impact. The fire has been extinguished and an investigation into the cause of the incident is underway.

The schedule for completion of repairs is currently being developed.
