Tetra Tech gets Army Corps of Engineers contract

The Army Corps of Engineers awarded a contract, with a top value of $38 million, for civil projects and military planning in various Western states to three companies, Tetra Tech Inc. said Wednesday.

Besides Tetra Tech, the other two parties are privately held MWH Global Inc. and a joint venture of Brown & Caldwell and URS Corp.

The Corps' Sacramento District hired the three contractors to do planning and analysis for water resource and levee programs, ecosystem restoration, flood risk management and environmental support projects.

The contract has one base year and four option years.

In midday trading, Tetra Tech rose 38 cents to $28.69 and URS added 17 cents to $44.57.
