Aircraft systems maker Moog Inc. said Friday that it is in discussions to buy a product line related to flight control actuation from GE Aviation Systems.

The terms of the potential deal were not disclosed.

Moog said the two companies expect to enter a purchase agreement "very shortly." Moog said it has enough cash and available credit to finance the deal.

The production operation is in the U.K. GE bought it in its acquisition of Smiths Aerospace in May 2007.
