Administrator, Microsoft on the Issues

Protecting privacy online and securing personal data are major priorities for Microsoft.   So, to commemorate Data Privacy Day in the U.S.  (and Data Protection Day in Europe), the company has been sharing its latest thinking on privacy policies and technologies in a variety of forums.

Microsoft executives are joining consumers, governments and organizations at events in San Francisco, Washington D.C. and Brussels to support increased awareness of online privacy. The company also released a study conducted with 2,500 consumers, HR managers and recruitment professionals in the U.S., U.K., Germany and France to learn more about attitudes toward online reputation, and how this information can have real life consequences in critical areas, such as hiring decisions.

Our Corporate Privacy Group and our colleagues in Europe have blogged about privacy protections in greater detail in conjunction with Data Privacy Day.  Take a look and give us your feedback.
