State utility regulators have granted Idaho's largest
utility permission to build a 300-megawatt natural gas-fired power
plant in rural Payette County.
Idaho Power Co., a subsidiary of IdaCorp Inc., announced its
plans for the Langley Gulch Power Plant in March.
The company expects the $427 million facility to be completed in
December 2012 and help bolster its goal of increasing its baseload
volume of power.
Idaho Power began promoting the project to residents and
government officials earlier this year.
