A new report by the U.S. Green Building Council indicates that the District of Columbia leads in per capita count of LEED-certified commercial and institutional green buildings, based on the 2010 U.S. Census. DC has more than 31 ft2 of LEED space per person, far outstripping the next nearest competing states, Colorado (2.74 ft2) and Illinois (2.69 ft2). Rounding out the list of top states were Virginia, Washington, Maryland, Massachusetts, Texas, California, New York, and Minnesota. http://bit.ly/zcGw48
