The 46th annual Laboratory of the Year competition, sponsored by R&D Magazine, is now open for entries, with a final deadline of Feb. 1, 2012. Research labs, quality assurance/control labs, teaching labs, software development facilities, environmental labs, clinical labs, forensic labs, and testing and standards labs are eligible. Projects can be new freestanding laboratories, major interior renovations of existing labs, additions to existing buildings, addition/renovation combinations, or lab fit-outs within existing buildings. Adaptive reuse projects and new campuses consisting primarily of research facilities are also eligible.
