Project team: Tsoi/Kobus & Associates, Cambridge, Mass. (architect); AHA Consulting Engineers, Lexington, Mass. (MEP engineer); Odeh Engineers Inc., North Providence, R.I. (structural engineer); Shawmut Design and Construction, Boston (general contractor).

Completion date: June 2010.

Description: Project will update facilities for training and research in biomedical and environmental science, and is being funded by Howard Hughes Medical Institute and the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center, as well as the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The scope includes completely gutting the internal infrastructure of the three-story building and creating space for consolidating the MBL’s research training programs. The building would also be the home of a proposed Center for Regenerative Biology and Medicine.
