Mettler-Toledo’s (Zurich, Switzerland) QUANTOS QB1 powder dosing instrument can accurately and automatically dose target weights in the range of 1 to 250 mg. An intelligent dosing head, with three different motors, dispenses powders with an accuracy of +-0.5 mg. The head controls operation through an RFID chip that stores information on the flow characteristics of the powder, which it learns from the dosings themselves, and user-defined parameters regarding both process and substance. As a result, the more dosings a dosing head has performed, the faster and more accurate they will be. The instrument, measuring 320 mm wide, 330 mm deep, and 675 mm long, occupies little space, another advantage versus competitors. An automatic front door allows users to exchange the dosing heads or the ErgoClip adapter. The intelligent dosing head is disposable; depending on the finish it can be used for 25, 75, or 250 precise dosings.
